Advice where there is no Will
Where someone dies without having made a Will they are said to have died intestate.
There are a strict set of rules that must be followed in those circumstances. The rules set out both who can deal with the estate (the Personal Representatives) and who is entitled to inherit.
We will discuss how these rules apply in your particular circumstances and explain the role of the Personal Representative. If you do not feel able to take on the role we can discuss the options available to you.
You will receive a written summary of our advice so that you can refer to this as you deal with the administration of the estate.
We can also provide you with a list of organisations that you may have to contact and outline the process for making an application for a Grant of Letters of Administration (if required).
You may find this level of service useful when acting as a Personal Representative on a simple estate where there are not many assets and few beneficiaries.
