Meet Cath Collins
Partner - Wills, Estates & Private Wealth
About Cath
Cath is a founding member of Vine and specialises in lifetime and estate planning. She is well known for her empathy and her open, friendly nature. She is also flexible in how she works with clients, whether it is in the office or their home with a cup of tea, or virtually if they prefer.
Cath helps her clients plan for the inevitable by ensuring their Will is in place, and their estate is properly structured to protect their assets and minimise tax.
Cath also encourages everyone to have in place a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) because she sees how difficult it can be for those in the caring role to have to apply to the Court of Protection for a Deputyship when there is no LPA in place. She can help with that too but would rather see her clients decide who they want to empower to make decisions for them when they can’t.
Cath helps manage the financial affairs of vulnerable people and also has a keen interest in Community Care Law. This means she can help those who rely on community care to access it if they are having difficulties doing so.
Like all of us here at Vine, Cath believes more people should access and use the benefits that law can provide to them. She is a keen advocate of people of all ages thinking and talking openly about subjects like serious ill-health and death to reduce our fear of them and make sure we plan properly. She always manages to put her clients at ease and gives practical and straight-forward advice.
