Advice on the Will and next steps

If you have been appointed as an Executor under a Will it can be daunting to know what to do and where to start.

How we can help

To help you decide whether you wish to act as an Executor we will fully explain what the role involves.

Some people can find it therapeutic to deal with the estate, whilst others can find it too much to deal with whilst grieving the loss of a loved one.

If you do not feel that you would be able to cope with the role, you could appoint an Attorney to act on your behalf. We will explain how this works if it is an option that you want to consider.

If you haven't got a family member or friend to act as your Attorney we would be able to do this on your behalf.   You can call us on 01945 898090* or email hello@vinelaw.co.uk* for a chat about your circumstances.

*Privacy Policy

If you do decide to act as executor we will take you through the Will clause by clause explaining what each of them means. We will set out the steps you need to take to ensure that the Will is followed and that you fulfil your obligations.
You will receive a written summary of our advice so that you can refer to this as you deal with the administration of the estate.
We can also provide you with a list of organisations that you may have to contact and outline the process for making an application for a Grant of Probate (if required).

You may find this level of service useful when acting as an Executor on a simple estate where there are not as many assets and few beneficiaries.

If having started dealing with the administration you find that it isn't as straightforward as you thought, or you have some questions we'd be happy to assist.
For a bespoke quote based on your individual circumstances give us a call on 01945 898090*, or you can contact Cath Collins at cathcollins@vinelaw.co.uk* or Kieren Cross at kierencross@vinelaw.co.uk*
